Summer School of Communication, Arts and Sumud 2008

AEI’s Annual Summer School of Communication was devoted to the theme of “Arts and Sumud.” Sumud, or steadfastness, is a concept, which has long been employed in Palestinian culture to describe the will of Palestinians to keep up hope, to stay on the land, and to preserve the fabric of community life.
Cartoon Making Workshops

The Arab Educational Institute and Camera etc (Liège, Belgium) organized two workshops about cartoon making, one for the youth and the other one for the children.
 
Thea Hesselink: They are Proud, I am Proud

Like last year, Thea Hesselink has been giving workshops at AEI’s summer school of communication. This time she helped young girls to do painting activities. And she guided AEI’s women’s group in making wall tapestries of pieces of cloth. The products of her courses were shown on the final celebration of the summer school. She personally stuck a selection of children paintings on the military watchtower near Rachel’s Tomb.
