AEI-Open Windows Visitors
Pilgrims from Lithuania
On the 20th
April 2006, a
Group of 15
pilgrims came from Lithuania to visit the AEI
and to learn about the situation in the country.
Elija who is a German musician and a good friend
of the AEI-Open Windows, led the group. Their
aim was to connect faithful people deeply with
the Holy Land and to ask for a stream of grace
for all people in the world.

They were very
interested in talking about the situation in
Palestine especially in Bethlehem because it has
a big meaning for Christians since it is the
birth place of Jesus Christ.
When they
arrived to the check-point they walked to the
Nativity Church in Bethlehem where they spent
some time for prayer. After wards, they visited
the AEI-Open Windows where they had some rest,
ate some food and met with some AEI different
groups' representatives. Mr. Fuad Giacaman
welcomed them and briefed them about the present
situation and the struggle against the wall, the
religious situation (Christian and Moslem
relations). They were also very interested in
knowing about our efforts in the fields in
non-violence and peace building and
interreligious and intercultural education.

Mr. Anton Murra
introduced the AEI's mission, programs, projects
and activities, which were followed by a very
rich discussion especially about the non-violent
methodology; entitled "inner peace" which has
been practiced by the RRCA activity.

Since the
people in Lithuania had a hard time under the
communist regime, they know what it means not to
be free, so they were very interested in talking
about the new PLC elections, IMF actions against
the Palestinians, wall, etc. At the end AEI
choir group performed national and folkloric
songs, the pilgrim group enjoyed it a lot. They
were prayerful people and would keep that
meeting in their hearts and prayers.
