The Arab Educational
Institute (AEI-Open Windows)
affiliated Organization to Pax
Christi International-Bethlehem
celebrated at the Peace Center hall
the launching of the Palestine-family.net
in the presence of representatives
from some local institutions and a
solidarity group from Pax Christi
Germany, in addition to AEI groups
members and school network.
At the beginning of
the meeting Mr. Fuad Giacaman – AEI
director general- welcomed all the
invitees and especially the German
Pax Christi guests. He highlighted
the suffering and Sumud
perseverance and resilience of our
Palestinian people in spite of the
economic siege and circumstances
that we face.
Mr. Fuad spoke highly
of the efforts and hard-work, the
AEI is exerting in cooperation for
the sake of deepening our national
unity in reviving our heritage
connectedness and communication of
our people through this Palestine-family.net
on the path to serve our just cause,
freedom and independence.
Mr. Fuad
congratulated our people on the
occasion of celebrating Eid Al Fitir
feast and extended his thanks to the
AEI donors and friends.
Dr. Toine Van
Teeffelen –AEI Development Director-
and James Prineas gave two
presentations on the importance and
benefits of this Palestine-family.net
and how to use it. They also
elaborated on how to access this
website with all its contents;
heritage, photos, documents, data
and history and Palestinian family
trees.
This Palestine-family.net
aims at creating communication among
all Palestinian wherever they are
present.
Mr. James called up
on all attendees to have full active
participation through providing this
website with information, facts,
photos and documents relating to the
Palestinian families.
Mrs. Layla Z'eiter
gave a briefing on the Artas
village. The participants toured the
photo exhibition, which James and
the AEI had organized entitled "The
Spirit of Sumud". The photo
exhibition included many photos
taken by Mr. James for the AEI
children's writings and paintings on
the Separation Wall, in addition to
many pictures taken through
fieldtrips and non-violent
activities at Wadi Al Qilt, Nabi
Prophet Musa in Jericho and to Artas
village.
These photos express
and demonstrate the present
Palestinian people present
catastrophe due to the Israeli
Occupation.
The two chairs or
presentators of the celebration,
Mrs. Jala Andonia and Miss Hanin Al
Massa'id thanked the attendance and
then invited hem to share an Iftar
Meal on the occasion of the Holy
Month of Ramadan.
During the
celebration, Artas Folkloric Troup,
led by Al Haj Abu Lutfi, performed
many folkloric dances and songs.
