Israeli-American aggression against
Palestine and Lebanon. The AEI

representatives –women, new

Dr. Khoury –general
director- opened the meeting by
talking about ferocious Israeli
aggression against Palestine and
Lebanon resulted in a mass
destruction to infrastructures, dead
bodies, and more than one million
Lebanese refugees because of the
destructive Israeli raids against
civilians. He confirmed the refusal
to the concept of a new Middle East,
which the US leadership has been
promoting for in order to pave the
way for the American-Israeli
domination on the Arab region.
Patriarch Michael
Sabbah said that what has been going
on in Gaza Strip and Lebanon is
unjustified and inhuman. He showed
that the war on Lebanon is not only
to release the two Israeli soldiers.
On the other hand he pointed out to
the thousands of Arab prisoners in
the Israeli prisons. Patriarch
Michael Sabbah criticized The
Israeli claim that what it is doing
in Lebanon and Palestine is a self
defense and he wondered about who is
the oppressor and who is the
defender. He called for an end to
the Israeli injustice and occupation
against the Palestinian people who
have the right to enjoy freedom and
independence. He concluded that
humanity needs peace builders not
weapons' manufacturers.
Judge of Judgers –Shaikh
Taysir Al Tamimy condemned the
Israeli aggression against Lebanon
and Palestine in which Israel has
been using the most sophisticated,
forbidden, deadly American weapons
which kill innocent civilians; kids,
women and old people in addition to
displacing thousands of people,
there are human rights violations in
contradiction with the international
laws. He concluded by asking the
Security Council not be silent and
to stand by the side of right and
justice.
Bishop Munib Yonan
read verses from the Holy Bible and
prayed to God to stop injustice,
bloodshed and for peace. It was
followed by another prayer from Dr.
Abd Al Rahman Abbad -the official
spokesman of the Islamic Scholars
Association in Palestine- in which
he called for an end to injustice
and killing of civilians, release of
prisoners.
At the end Dr. Theyab
Ayoush –vice-President of the Board
of Trustees- recited a statement in
the name of the participants. The
statement greeted the legitimate
resistance in Palestine and Lebanon
and condemned the Israeli aggression
against Palestine and Lebanon, and
the American bias with this
aggression, massacres that have been
done against the civilians in
Palestine and Lebanon. It also
denounced the Arab and international
silence to what is going on in
Palestine and Lebanon. Moreover, the
statement called for the release of
the Arab prisoners in the Israeli
jails and the return of the refugees
and the displaced people.
Furthermore, the statement
reemphasized the sticking to the
Christian-Moslem unity. It also
condemned the Israeli aggressions
against Christian-Moslem holy
places. Finally, it called to a just
resolution to the Palestinian cause
by giving back our right, to the
establishment of a Palestinian state
with Jerusalem as its capital, to an
end to the bloodshed and to resort
to negotiations instead of violence.
