Ramadan Social Activity
 Celebrating Iftar meal in Ramallah

 

On Thursday evening 27/9/2007, the Arab Educational Institute organized  an Iftar meal on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and the beginning of the new school year for the schools' network that cooperate with the institution in the implementation of the project "Living in the Holy Land: Respecting Differences", in Ramallah district. The ceremony was attended by school principals, teachers of the Evangelical Lutheran School, St. George of the Greek orthodox School, the Arab Evangelical Episcopal School, St. Joseph School, Latin Patriarchate School in -Bir Zeit, Al Ahliyyah College and the Greek Catholic School of our Lady Annunciation. Mr. Tahseen Yaqeen, Director of Editing Department at the Curriculum Section / Ministry of Education, also attended the ceremony.

 

Mr. Fuad Giacaman, AEI-Open Windows General Director, congratulated and welcomed the attendees. He pointed to the tradition followed by the institute and the schools' network in Ramallah and Bethlehem districts, in celebrating Islamic and Christian feasts, like the Holy Month of Ramadan, Christmas, Easter and the Prophet Mohammed's Anniversary, where the Christians and Muslims educators and students are involved together in the revival of these occasions. This contributes to strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and sense of belonging among the Palestinian people.

Dr. Walid Mustafa, the Moslem coordinator of the project, reviewed the activities and courses the AEI intends to do in implementing the program during the first semester of the school year 2007 / 2008.

Also at the ceremony, Deacon Ibrahim Neirouz, was congratulated by all the participants on his new post the Parish priest of the Evangelical Episcopal Church in Nablus. Mr. Fuad thanked him for his efforts as a former coordinator of the project in Ramallah during the past years.
