International Woman's Day

Women are a very important
entity of the Arab Educational Institute. This
is reflected in the AEI women's group
activities. AEI celebrated along with the
women's group members the "International Woman's
Day" on Wednesday, March 5th during
their weekly meeting. They received peace
messages and wishes and prayers from women from
Pax Christi U.K. entitled "to the Women of the
Sumud Peace House, Bethlehem. Moreover,
three women prepared each a ten-minute-talk
about the different aspects of the
International; Woman's Day, so the women talked
about the role of women in making a change in
the society, and. It was a very rich discussion.
Finally, they celebrated this occasion by
sharing food (homemade cookies and
refreshments).
On the other hand, the AEI
women's group communicated the Woman's Day with
their husbands and family members. Moreover,
some of these women participated in the World
day of Prayer for Women on Fridays and Sundays
together with other women from different church
communities and some Moslems too. Also, some of
the AEI women's group participated in a dinner
in Bethlehem together with other women from
different backgrounds to raise their voices on
their rights and the present escalation in Gaza
and other activities in the area.
