It’s time for
Bethlehem
Christmas, the miraculous time of the year. The time when our Lord
Jesus Christ was born, in the city of peace, Bethlehem.
In this time we invite you to join us for the Christmas celebration,
and have this unique experience in the city of Christ itself.
We offer you to stay with Christian families and experience the
Palestinian Christmas with them. On December 24th (The
Orthodox Christmas is in January 7th, and the Armenian
Christmas on January 18th) you are invited to go to
Nativity Square and watch the Christmas procession, as well as the
welcoming of the patriarch into the church. You can enjoy the
performances of scouts who come from all over Palestine to celebrate
this joyful event.
That day is full of other activities that you can join: the choir
singing in front of the Nativity Church and musical performances and
corals at night. We will also arrange for you to have a ticket to
attend the midnight mass on the eve of Christmas and join the
national prayer. The next Christmas morning, you are welcome to join
the family gathering in their Christmas lunch, and enjoy the
Palestinian celebration of Christmas. Afterwards, you may visit the
Shepherd’s Fields in Beit Sahour and pray, and there join a march
for peace in Palestine headed by the local priests and people from
around the Bethlehem area. At night you will be invited along with
your hosting family for a joint dinner, and a beautiful cultural
performance hosted by the Arab Educational Institute (AEI-Open
Windows).
If you would like your stay to extend for more days than Christmas,
we will be happy to arrange your trip around Palestine and enjoy
both a cultural and a political tour in the area. This will enrich
your stay and deepen your experience of the Holy Land.
Our cultural tourism Itineraries are found at
www.spiritofsumud.ps. Please note that we can modify the program
according to your needs by adding other places to the itinerary.
We encourage
you to book your Palestinian Christmas - Discover the Heart of a
