Valentine's Day Celebration |
Valentine's Day is a very nice occasion
that some Palestinian communities like to
celebrate, since it is part of the Palestinian
culture. However, because the Arab Educational
Institute has been always interested in the
culture of the youth, it creates an atmosphere
for the youths to enjoy such celebrations.
Hence, as a response to the demands of the AEI
youth groups members; AEI organized two
Valentine's parties; one for the high school
youth group and the other for the University and
the Post Graduates youth groups.
The youths were very excited about the
parties. However, things happen in life and
force us to change plans. As the Arab poet, Al
Imam Al Shafi'i said: "the wind blows against
the direction of the ships". The mother of the
AEI youth coordinator –Milad- passed away.
Hence, the AEI administrations decided to call
off the Valentine's parties from the 14th
and the 15th February to the 22nd
and 23rd February 2008.
In both parties, the youth participants
brought home made food. Each youth was proud of
what his/ her mom prepared. There were many
games and activities. There was dancing too. The
most important thing is that the youths enjoyed
their time.
